This section is intended to answer your basic questions about preparing jobs for Printing Services. It covers the basic workflow you will experience if you follow the guidelines described in these pages. It also describes the role of the CSR (Customer Service Representative) during your project's life at Printing Services. It covers the supported software that are considered the industry standards for desktop publishing. If you choose to use other software options that are not standard tools for desktop publishing, you can minimize the extra processing that will result by following the guidelines described in the word processing and Publisher 2000 sections. A few of the jobs we receive are still submitted as camera-ready work. If you cannot submit your jobs electronically, please refer to this section for the best way to prepare your camera-ready jobs.
Other general topics in this section include guidelines for using and submitting fonts and graphics, how to correctly use and specify ink colors in your jobs, and the advantages of using styles in your layout software. The Layout Specifics section covers topics such as target printers for PC users, the correct use of photos and bleeds, how to organize your files, and other tips for preparing layout files.
