From Dr. Marc Shapiro, Director of Trauma Service, St. Louis University Medical Center State Chapter Update

The Missouri Chapter of the American College of Surgeons met June 16-18, 1995, at the Lodge of the Four Seasons, Lake of the Ozarks. Joseph Solomkin, M.D., Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati, discussed surgical fungal infections. On Saturday morning, Michael Buckstein, M.D. and William Craybill, M.D., reviewed controversial topics in cancer therapy.

As Father's Day was Sunday, a family brunch was provided. There was a presentation for families on the Civil War.

In addition to the Advanced Trauma Life Support Courses offered in the state, the Society of Critical Care Medicine has recently produced a course entitled Fundamentals of Critical Care Support Course, which is modeled after the ATLS and ACLS Courses.
